Santa Clara County - Whistleblower Investigator

The Office of the County Executive is seeking motivated individuals who possess the highest level of integrity and honesty and who will work in collaboration and
coordination with the Office of the County Counsel.

The position is responsible for conducting independent investigations of personnel related complaints. The individual will conduct interviews, prepare comprehensive confidential reports detailing investigations, findings, and conclusions, and make recommendations to the Whistleblower Program and other senior level staff.  The individual may be asked to document Whistleblower Program protocols, prepare reports for the Board of Supervisors, and assist in the development of policies and procedures.

The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one, regular, full-time position in the class of Public Defender Investigator I / II at the Public Defender’s Office.  The candidate selected will be placed at the Public Defender Investigator I or II level depending on their background and experience, and at the discretion of the appointing authority. 

Public Defender Investigator I
Public Defender Investigator I  This is the entry level to the Public Defender Investigator Series. Incumbents work under close supervision in conducting routine defense investigations relating to misdemeanors, and felonies. 
Public Defender Investigator II
This is the journey level of the Public Defender Investigator Series. Incumbents work under general supervision in conducting defense investigations relating to misdemeanors, and felonies. 

Federal Public Defender’s Office Central District of California - Trial Investigator Position

San Joaquin County is seeking a part-time Chief Public Defender Investigator for an appointment not expected to exceed six months. 

San Joaquin County Public Defender is searching for an experienced, public agency law enforcement criminal investigator who possesses the leadership, initiative, adaptability and flexibility to assume management and supervision of a unit of investigators for a period of limited duration, expected to not exceed 6 months.

The Chief Public Defender Investigator plans, coordinates and supervises the investigative functions of the Public Defender’s Office. Direction is received from the Public Defender and Assistant Public Defender.
