Leticia Macias:
In 1985 I started working for the Riverside Public Defenders Office. At that time I was attending school and psychology was my major. I quickly changed it to Administration of Justice when I realized this was the career I wanted to have. At that time there were not many women in this line of work and I felt a great enthusiasm and responsibility at proving that women could and would be excellent in this field. In 1996 I went to work for the Los Angeles Alternate Public Defenders Office where I am happily working out of the Pasadena Office. I am proud to say that I graduated from the very first DITA class back in 2001. This is my second year as board member (currently in charge of products) and I am enjoying all the hard work and involvement it takes. I never knew how much hard work and dedication it took to be on the board until now. My thanks and respect goes to all those people that have given so much for so many years to make this organization what it is today.
